Angina
Angina is pain occurring on the left side of the chest and radiating down the left arm, and occasionally up into the left side of the jaw. It is due to a lack of blood supply to the heart muscle. Other measures are often required, such as a change in diet (avoid fatty foods such as red meats, milk and dairy products); stopping smoking. You should also pay attention to lifestyle and endeavour to limit stress and physical activity. Electro-Acupuncture can only be regarded as a symptomatic approach to this problem.
Chilblains
These are relatively common in cold climates and Electro-Acupuncture offers a useful method of treatment.
Circulation Improvement – Raynauds
This may improve circulation problems. These can range from cold hands and feet, to more serious conditions where circulation is markedly interrupted, such as Raynauds’ syndrome. This is a condition where the fingers and toes go white, sometimes blue and in severe cases almost black. If yours is a hand problem, treat the points for upper limb. If you suffer with the feet use the points for lower limb. In all cases also use Liver 3 and Pericardium 6 (Liv3 – P6).
High Blood Pressure (hypertension)
Hypertension is common in the civilised world. Effective treatment is vital. Without it there is a risk of a stroke. It is therefore essential that treatment is monitored by either taking the blood pressure yourself or seeing your doctor. Use Electro-Acupuncture and see your doctor.
Palpitations
Palpitations are caused by the heart beating irregularly. It often feels like a fluttering in the left side of the chest. In some cases palpitations are caused by reaction to foods, particularly coffee. It is therefore advisable for those who suffer palpitations to avoid coffee completely in addition to using Electro-Acupuncture, as this can produce a swifter improvement.
