Recent studies have shown that acupressure (and acupuncture) seems to be very effective at treating different types of sporting injury. Problems such as repetitive strain injury, tennis elbow, muscular pains and strains, are all good examples.
More and more, Acupressure is being relied upon by athletes and regular sports people. Even coaches of professional athletes are recruiting the use and benefits of acupressure techniques to treat acute injuries quickly and ensure players can continue their performance.
In one study, for example, Tennis elbow sufferers treated with acupressure had “…significant reductions in pain and improvements in arm function…” in comparison to those treated by other more conventional methods.
More recently, new research has found that office workers who suffer from chronic neck and shoulder strain, especially those spending their time at a computer screen (where very often poor posture can result for long periods of time), felt the benefits for 3 years following a course of acupressure treatment.
